Executive Director

In September 2017, Laura was named Executive Director of RiverBend Cancer Services. Previously the Executive Director at Reading for Life, a mentoring program for juvenile offenders, and Director of Development for St. Vincent du Paul Society, Laura has been part of the community for 15 years. She has a Master’s in Non-Profit Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree from Colorado College. She is the mother of five children, has two dogs, and volunteers actively in the PHM schools and with Friends of Granger Paths.

Program Director

Katina joined RiverBend in December 2018, and has a bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Bethel College. She is a South Bend native and a mother to two sons. When not at RiverBend, Katina enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and especially practicing the new knitting and crocheting skills she learned from the very kind ladies in the Wednesday morning Knitting Group.

Client Advocate and Counselor

Susan is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Indiana with a Master's in Counseling from Butler University. Soon after finishing her Master's in Social Work she was employed at Madison Center and worked with sexual assault and sexual abuse survivors. Susan also has 10 years of experience with Hospice in the field of bereavement group work in Elkhart County. Susan began her position with RiverBend in May of 2014 and sees individuals living with cancer and their families for one on one counseling. In addition, she facilitates support groups for men, women, families and caregivers. Susan is a wife, mother of two adult sons and has 7 grandchildren.
