Although a cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, it was even more so many decades ago when patients resources were few and far between.And so it was in 1943 when three local doctors helped found what is today known as RiverBend Cancer Services. These dedicated doctors, along with other concerned community members, saw how devastating a cancer diagnosis could be and decided to help alleviate the stress by providing transportation, medical supplies, education and access to the latest and most innovative cancer treatments.  These doctors realized that while they might not yet be able to cure cancer completely, they could make life much easier for those living with the disease.Their remarkable vision continues to this day.The men and women who founded RiverBend Cancer Services all those years ago would be amazed at how their vision has evolved. Today, RiverBend provides a broad array of interrelated programs supporting cancer survivors from diagnosis throughout treatment and onto an even more promising future.
