JAZZ AROUND THE BEND
At Jazz Around the Bend this year we honored two people who believe deeply in supporting causes that change the trajectory of people's lives, Cari and Barry Shein. That belief has shaped so much of the work we do at RiverBend.
Because of their generosity, and the generosity of so many in our community, people living with cancer, survivors and their families find support, compassion, and as Cari would say,“a place where strangers quickly become friends.”
Cari and Barry, we are endlessly grateful for you!
Anyone touched by cancer knows it changes everything.
What’s just as true is this: the support someone has changes everything, too.
It is the moment someone walks through our doors and realizes they do not have to figure
this out alone. It is the steady presence that meets them exactly where they are.
That is the impact this community makes. And it is why RiverBend exists.
Because what people remember most is not the gas money that helped them get to and from treatment, the wheelchair they received, or even the many yoga classes they attended. What they remember is the feeling of being supported through something they never thought they could face. They remember knowing there was a place and a community willing to help carry what felt too heavy to carry alone.
And that is what your support makes possible: a legacy of compassion for those living with cancer, survivors, and their families. A promise that they will always have a place to turn to.
